The art of creating a dental crown involves ensuring it fits snugly next to your other teeth. It also has to match the color of your other teeth. A good dentist will give you a dental crown that lasts for many years. Because of this, it has to be extremely sturdy and firm. Warren dentist Fotolia_160167_XS.jpg

I understand this requirement, which is why I never take any shortcuts in my work. I would make sure it is perfect ahead of installation. My technicians work on every crown for several days. The ultimate aim is to ensure your crown will stay with you for as long as possible.

Before we give you a permanent crown, I have to even up your tooth and get rid of the stains. This stage would also smoothen out any chips. In doing this, I will probably cut away bits of the tooth's protective covering, or enamel. With some enamel gone, your tooth is now vulnerable to the elements, especially germs. You risk getting plaque on your tooth so you need makeshift protection as we complete your permanent dental crown.

What we mean is a temporary dental crown. Come to my Warren dental office. You will see that we have acrylic-, or stainless-based temporary crowns. These crowns are made by my reliable team with my involvement.

I first need to get the proportions of your tooth. To do this, I make a mold of the tooth and the tooth opposite it. We want to create a situation where both crowns are similar in length and ease your bite. We would never want to prevent you from chomping on your favorite meals. I will make the temporary crowns as accurate as possible, letting you chew confidently.

I would then pour the material into the mold, ensuring the temporary dental crown fits to the exact measurements. We then have to find something to fix the crown with. I use a dental cement that has a strong adhesive. It can also be removed without a problem, making it ideal to affix the temporary dental crown on to the tooth.

Now, I did tell you that you can eat what you like. But, to be safe, you should keep away from difficult veggies such as carrots, and fruits that have similarly tough flesh. Also, no matter how tempting it might be, don't indulge in chewy steaks or ribs while your temporary crown is still in your mouth. You don't want to do any more damage when the crown is loose and a temporary crown cannot provide the same safety guarantees as a permanent crown can.
