There are cheap dental crowns and there are expensive dental crowns. When the price increases, so does the quality of the material it's made from. They are a lot more durable, and they continue to endure through the pounding put upon them by your teeth. You will end up with a more enduring dental crown when you choose to have a dental crown that leans more to the high-price side. Warren dentist Fotolia_1186998_XS.jpg

During a consultation with a patients, a lot of times, I will propose a dental crown, when too many fillings are present and the tooth has reached its snapping point. Also, if a tooth has a crack running through it and close to the root, a dental crown will be the first course of action that I recommend.

If you're looking for a crown that will be light on your wallet, resin dental crowns fit the bill. But, I only look at them as temporary solutions that may come with other price tags you don't want to pay. Installing a resin crown usually means that the crack gets worse, not better. When this happens, it totally cancels out what you wanted to achieve by fixing a crown. I install crowns to nip tooth fissures in the bud, instead of making things worse.

Crowns made from gold and other such metals carry a middle-of-the-road price tag. These types of crowns are presented by Warren dental crown professionals, since they don't give into the demands of your jaw. In addition, they act as a cushion to the tooth on the contrary side. They prevent this other tooth from being worn down. This advantage can't be realized by a resin dental crown.

Generally, porcelain crowns are priced more than gold. People like these, as they more easily fit into the color of your other teeth. A metal crown tends to stick out like a sore thumb. But there are many people who don't object to an obvious metal crown, because gold lasts much longer than the porcelain.
